Bright Spot Test
Uniform pure white is the fastest background for finding bright spots, pressure damage, and screen-of-death pixels that only misbehave on light backgrounds.
Click Start for pure white. Look for dots that glow brighter than the panel around them.
How to use this test
Click Start — the test opens fullscreen over this page (nothing is installed, nothing leaves your browser). A control bar at the bottom of the screen lets you switch colors and exit with one tap — touch screens included; the Esc key and your browser's back button work too. Judge the screen in the lighting the test asks for; judging bleed or uniformity in a bright room defeats the test.

Pressure damage (a finger or object pressed the panel), impact, or a failing backlight diffuser.
Is a bright spot repairable?
Usually not — it is physical damage to the LCD layers. Warranty may cover it if it appears on its own.
