Stuck Pixel Fixer

The classic fix: rapid full-field color flashing pressures the pixel driver to reset. It works on stuck pixels sometimes, never on truly dead ones — and it is free to try.

Run for 10–30 minutes. Stuck (not dead) pixels respond most often. Keep the laptop plugged in.

How to use this test

Click Start — the test opens fullscreen over this page (nothing is installed, nothing leaves your browser). A control bar at the bottom of the screen lets you switch colors and exit with one tap — touch screens included; the Esc key and your browser's back button work too. Judge the screen in the lighting the test asks for; judging bleed or uniformity in a bright room defeats the test.

Frequently asked questions

Does this actually work?

On stuck pixels, sometimes — reports vary widely. On dead pixels, never. If 30 minutes does nothing, it is dead, and warranty/panel replacement is the only route.

Is flashing safe for the screen?

Yes — it is just colors. The screen is designed to change colors millions of times.
